CATTLE DECAPITATION Continuing Bassist Search, Planning U.S. Tour
January 1, 2010San Diego extreme metallers CATTLE DECAPITATION have issued the following update:
"Now that the year is over and holidays behind us, we'll be narrowing down the bass-player search! Our current fill-in bass player, Rah Davis, is stepping down to go back to school and we always applaud anyone who wishes to further their education, so we wish Rah the best of luck and we thank him for his service in gore!!!"
CATTLE DECAPITATION will embark on a U.S. tour in April/May. European dates, including an appearance at the the Stonehenge Festival in Holland on July 31, will follow during the summer.
CATTLE DECAPITATION last year parted ways with bassist Troy Oftedal due to "musical and personal differences." The band stated at the time, "There is no bad blood and we wish him the best of luck."
Capital Chaos has uploaded video footage (see below) of CATTLE DECAPITATION performing the song "Regret & The Grave" on October 4, 2009 at The Boardwalk in Orangevale, California. Also on the bill were MUTINY WITHIN, DAMAGE OVER TIME and SOULFLY.
CATTLE DECAPITATION's video for the song "A Body Farm" was directed by the band's friend, DOWNSPELL vocalist Tyson Metruccio (who previously helmed BRUTAL TRUTH's "Sugardaddy" clip).
Metal Blade Records released a limited-edition, picture-disc vinyl version of the new CATTLE DECAPITATION album, "The Harvest Floor", on April 14, 2009.
"The Harvest Floor" sold around 1,700 copies in the United States in its first week of release, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The CD debuted at No. 16 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.
